Electronic Music Studio
STRUM: Sound Technology Research at the University of Minnesota
STRUM STUDIOS
Many kinds of electronic music are created and performed with both "classic" and state of the art hardware and software at the STRUM studios, located in Ferguson Hall, home of the University of Minnesota School of Music in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The STRUM studios enable several methods of music composition, music analysis and audio research, music recording and production, sound synthesis and audio processing, video production, motion capture, and construction and performance of software and hardware instruments for presentation in concert and multimedia contexts.
STRUM musicians and researchers are encouraged to experiment and explore their musical ideas with the studios' technology, whatever their interests or background may be.
STRUM is also the host of the annual Spark Festival of Electronic Music and Art, established in 2003. Please see the Spark website for more details.
