Choral Ensembles

University Singers

MWF: 12:45-2:15 p.m. Ferguson Hall, Rm 90
The University Singers is the flagship choral ensemble of the University of Minnesota. The group performs as both a large ensemble of 80 singers, but also divides into a chamber ensemble and concert choir. Singers explore classical and global repertoire for mixed chorus from the Renaissance through the 20th century. Concerts, both on and off campus, include convention presentations, touring, and collaborations with ensembles including the Minnesota Orchestra, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, other college and community choruses, and many School of Music ensembles. Women's Chorus

MW: 3:35-5:05 p.m. Ferguson Hall, Rm 90
The University Women’s Chorus presents choral music programs of classical, folk, popular and global repertoire for female and mixed voices. Concerts occur both on and off campus and include performances at Ted Mann Concert Hall and at area festivals. The choir also collaborates with the Men’s Chorus, Minnesota Orchestra, community organizations, other collegiate women’s choruses, and various University ensembles. Men's Chorus

MW: 3:35-5:05 p.m. Grace University Lutheran Church (east bank)
The Men’s Chorus services the University and Twin Cities community through performances of glee club, folk, popular and classical repertoire. Concerts include appearances at University of Minnesota and professional Twin Cities' athletic events, Ted Mann Concert Hall, and Minnesota festivals. The chorus collaborates with the Women’s Chorus, Minnesota Orchestra, community organizations, other collegiate men’s choruses, and various University ensembles. To schedule an audition click here.

Campus Singers

T/Th: 12:20 p.m. -1:10 p.m. TCF Bank Stadium/Music Wing

Campus Singers is a brand new ensemble of the School of Music that will meet in the new TCF Bank Stadium on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:15-1:05. This ensemble is non-auditioned and is opened to all members of the University community, including students from all schools, faculty, staff and alumni. Campus Singers will be a 2 credit class (MUS 3230, Section II). The Campus Singers will sing diverse repertoire from various periods, including folk music from multiple cultures. Gospel Choir

M: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Anderson Hall, Rm 310
The Gospel Choir is the largest choral group at the University of Minnesota, with membership typically between 200 and 250 singers. Under the direction of composer, arranger, and pianist Sanford Moore, this group explores a variety of repertoire, ranging from Spirituals to Contemporary Gospel. To finish each semester, the Gospel Choir collaborates with professional musicians from around the Twin Cities for their final concert in Ted Mann Hall. Membership in the University of Minnesota's Gospel Choir does not require an audition.
