Bravo! begins Sunday, June 13 and ends with a final concert on Saturday afternoon, July 10. Participants can depart after the final concert on July 10. Participants wishing to depart on Sunday, July 11 will be charged an additional $50.

Application Procedure

To apply for admission, complete the application form (PDF) and send it with an audition tape and $75 application fee to:

Please make your checks payable to the University of Minnesota.

The $75 application fee is not refundable.

The deadline for applications is Friday, May 7.
After the application deadline, space at Bravo! will be awarded based on availability.

Tuition

The $1400 tuition fee includes four private lessons, four technique classes and eight chamber music coachings, as well as all master classes and concerts. A $400 deposit is required upon acceptance to reserve your space. If cancellation is made before June 1, $250 of this deposit is refundable.

Housing and Meals

Housing for Bravo! students is found in Middlebrook Hall. The charge for an air-conditioned room and three meals per day, seven days per week is $1400 (each additional night is $50).

Day students may purchase a meal ticket. For more information, please contact the Bravo! program director. Students who wish to live off campus should make their own arrangements.

Bravo! students may use University recreational facilities in Coffman Memorial Union.

Financial Aid

Bravo! tuition is heavily subsidized by the University of Minnesota, which keeps its cost well below that of similar programs elsewhere. Therefore, scholarships are granted to outstanding students on a need-only basis, upon request and following confirmation of need.

Typical Bravo! Day

Here's what to expect from a typical Bravo! day:

7:00 a.m. Breakfast
8:30 a.m. Practice*
12:30 p.m. Lunch
1:30 p.m. Chamber Music
2:30 p.m. Technique Class
3:30 p.m. Master Class
5:30 p.m. Dinner
6:30 p.m. Free Time
7:30 p.m. Recital or Recreation
10:30 p.m. In Dorm (pre-college students)
* We recommend 50-minute practice periods followed by a 10-minute break

Private lessons and some chamber music coachings are scheduled during the morning. Free time may be used for practice and rehearsal.
